This amazingly fit, spritely mid 80 year old came in with vision issues. And yes, he has age related blepharoptosis, which is pretty significant.
He is the primary carer of his ailing wife and needs help!
Whilst his left side is worse, both are bad, which is easily seen by lifting the right eyelid. Note the left one responds with almost complete closure.
This called Herings law. It is usually subtle, but with significant ptosis, can be quite dramatic, as with this patient.
I will undertake a bilateral levator and Muellers muscle advancement to restore function.
